About

History

This association started with 3 like-minded doctors in the field of Natural Medicine who discovered the need for networking and engagement between various professions within Natural Medicine. The vision we had in mind was to increase awareness and provide access to Natural Medicine doctors to the community of Cape Town, especially those with lack of access. It also provides a safe space for practitioners to engage and develop their professionalism sharing treatment outcomes and engagement with other stakeholders within the field.

Meet our Team of Executive Members

Dr Faeeza Abdullatief

Chairperson

A qualified Unani Tibb practitioner and former lecturer in Natural Medicine. She has served on the AHPCSA council as a board member and also chaired professional associations previously. She has also served as rapporteur to the WHO on the standardisation of Unani Tibb globally. Dr Maryam Kisten

Secretary

A qualified Phytotherapist focussing on holistic healing with herbal medicine. Dr Kisten is also a former lecturer in herbal medicine and is actively involved in community outreach programs. Dr Rhoda Deers

Treasurer

A qualified Unani tibb Practitioner and Anthropologist, former lecturer in Natural medicine and currently lecturing within Anthropology. She is a PhD candidate in Anthropology. Dr Deers currently serves on the professional board of AHPCSA and brings her experience on professional associations and academia to NMASA. Her private practice in situated in Cape Town.
